Everybody these days seems to use a stylist for everything. Facebook party groups have ruined me. I am not one to go OTT (over the top) with anything and if you know me personally you will know how chilled I actually am, but the PRESSURE!! The pressure to have gorgeous everything these days. I have seen kids parties that were more lavish than my wedding, and that cost me (well my parents) more than a house deposit! Have people lost their minds?!?!? YES!! yes they have, and I am one of them. To a certain extreme though. I was recently involved in the organising of a fundraiser and was introduced to Valentina Seretis. She’s as beautiful as her name and her work is even more beautiful. It really put to shame my DIY efforts of the past. The gorgeous golden towers and beautiful backdrops had me mesmerised from the moment I stepped in the door that night. Like all the others, I flocked straight to it and although I was making a puddle at my feet with drool I didn’t dare touch anything for fear of ruining the master piece I saw before me. I HAD TO have this woman style Ambrosia’s party!
It seems that my hard work of stalking and subtly liking all her pics paid off because she mutually spammed my page back and here the romance began. We chatted away for a while and conversation turned to Ambrosia’s first birthday, which of course is too close to Christmas (22nd) to be able to find anyone that’s available but Valentina was more than happy to do as much as she could for me in the lead up. (free advice, hell yeah I’ll take it!) We spent the next few hours sending inspo / Pintrest pics back and forth to each other for my boho inspired birthday party and she seemed as genuinely excited for this party as I was. What more can you want from someone when it comes to such a special day in your life.
Valentina is based in Melbourne but caters for local, interstate and even events abroad. She does everything from weddings, christenings, bridal showers and birthdays to corporate events and Christmas parties, and will happily provide a tailored solution to your event no matter how big or small it is. The thing that got me was her attention to detail though, I mean anyone can throw together a dessert table but she was asking me questions like what the space was like and how we could set up little “chill out zones” in the back yard for the kids with pallets and poufs, fresh flowers or artificial, gold towers or wooden, grazing table or platters for the savoury foods. Now I’m not sure if she does that will all her clients or if she just picked up on the fact that I’m a control freak who is all about the detail, but regardless I actually feel really confident, organised and relaxed now.
I’m sure that many of you have used stylists before but for me this was my first time and what a relief it was to not have the headache associated with planning a party but still being involved in the planning enough to say I chose most of it myself and she totally got my “boho-gypsy-floral inspired rustic” theme, which only really exists in my head.
Here are some more examples of her work. – Zoe xoxo

Val did my daughters 1st birthday party. We had the little red ridinghood theme. Probably not as creative as your boho-floral idea but was exactly how I imagined it. I’m also abit of a control freak by Val was so easy to work with I felt I had a big input too. I would definitely use her again.
That’s awesome! She’s going to get too expensive for us soon I can just tell!
Thanks Ana! 💕💕💕 Anything for my Zoe!!!
I like this blog so much, bookmarked.
